I'm not sure where to begin, but what comes first in your mind when you hear a word 'beautiful'? Those definitions are limitless, you won't finish reading all of the people's opinion when it comes to the meaning.
Back in high school, people are so much looking into physical appearance and the beauty privilege were always a real thing. Those who has a fair, clear skin and gorgeous eyes were always became popular rather than those who weren't into those stuffs yet passionate about having a brain-feeding with certain knowledge. Sounds unfair? it really was--but this is not what I'm gonna be talking about.
To be honest, I was the second girl on the example. I was this nerdy girl with glasses who likes to read thick books and had no a single idea about beauty stuffs. Cliché as it is, I decided to step out from my comfort zone and I learned about make up and stuffs and here I am now, owning a page that mostly talks about beauty. If you thought that I left my usual habits before I knew about these beauty stuffs, you're clearly wrong because I am still me on the inside.
And the truth is, the world isn't only categorized by those who are geeky and those who are into physical appearances a.k.a the beauty enthusiasts. Around 2017, I discovered this amazing Instagram page by @the_indian_feminists and it really changed the way I see how society treats us, the women. As an example, here are some posts that caught my interests at the first place.
Now, I'd like to ask you the similarity between those posts. Yes, they both sends the same message on how the majority of us often draw a very thick line between the Brainiac and the Beauty when in my opinion, it's the same thing that develops us to be a person, to take place in the society. Why choose one if you can be both?
The Brainiac, that sounds nerdy as it is, might love to be a delegate in a conference or simply loves to read books about their related field and so they need to work in their appearance make them look acceptable professionally. While the Beauty, loves to watch beauty tutorials and dreams of building their own beauty company so they study hard to do what it takes to be a CEO of the beauty company. Do you see any difference in those examples?
There is NO difference between the Brainiac and the Beauty. As I said before, it is how we take place in our society--to reach their own dream. No one is better and no one is bad, every woman is equal to each other and we need no comparation between them. So in my opinion, there are no such thing as brain over beauty. It is our natural instict to be the best version of ourselves without discrediting others.
I won't stop there, aside from the brain versus beauty that got so overrated, me versus the other girls is also happening. I honestly got the point of making the comparation about me and the other girls, it's just somehow entertaining--but the character 'me' is often pictured as a 'unique' person while the other girls are the mainstream people. For example: I bet you've seen people somewhere on the internet writing something like this:
In conclusion, woman can both going out to a bookstore while carrying Sephora's paperbag. It is NOT a choice to choose brain or beauty because we got both and Its okay to be like the other people, there's really nothing wrong with that.

Girl... you are just the same like the rest of us... what makes us different is what we're doing at the moment. The world isn't that small, you may likely found someone like you outside your comfort zone. It's okay to be like others, no need to lock yourself out from people just because they're 'all same'
But please take notes that I am not discouraging you guys to be unique, because I believe people have their own personality which makes us different. I was just saying that it is very okay to have a mainstream taste such as music, hobbies and film. If you feel like watching soap opera on the television, go for it. If you listen to some mainstream pop on Spotify, you do what you want to do.

To answer the earlier question, the definition of beautiful, for me is someone who minds their own business, pursues their dream like no one can stop them and not bringing others down to make them feel good about themselves.
